From the time I was in junior high, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I helped tutor junior high students in an after school program when I was in high school and worked at a math camp in the summers. Directly out of high school I worked at the San Marcos Baptist Academy as a Resident Assistant for four years. I mentored, monitored, and helped junior high students who lived in dorms on campus. I graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with my focus in Special Education. My initial plan was to teach 4-8th math, but was lead down a different path. I absolutely love teaching life skills. After graduation, I started as a paraprofessional for a semester and then moved to Midland, TX and taught elementary life skills for four years. My husband got a job transfer to Missouri City and I was hired on at Baines Middle School in 2012. It has been a wonderful journey and I am so privileged to have the opportunity to work with wonderful students and alongside wonderful parents.
