Dear BJE Wolverines,

I am excited to join the Barbara Jordan Elementary Outclass team as your librarian this school year. I taught third grade for one year, first grade for three years, and have been a school librarian for eleven years. I love being a librarian because I get to work with students in every grade level as well as all of our teachers and parents. 

I am a fifth generation Texan who grew up in Houston. I lived in California during college and lived in Austin for fifteen years while working full time and attending graduate school. I am married to Mr. Thorn and we have a fourteen year old daughter named Lily who is a freshman in high school. We love going out on family date night when we are not at home snuggling with our five year old pug, Emmie. 

Our library books will be used to learn new information and to promote a lifelong love of reading. I have many fun activities planned for this school year and look forward to getting to know each and every student. I welcome your feedback and encourage you to reach out with any questions, comments, or concerns.
