Resource is a service received by some students with disabilities. Students leave a general education setting to receive specialized instruction, for a designated amount of time, in areas such as reading, writing, and math. Flexible grouping and differentiated instruction are common practices in resource. A climate in which everyone feels safe and valued best describes a resource setting. Teachers are organized, patient, motivating, caring, and trained to meet the needs of their students.

Pre-school Program for Children with Disabilities (PPCD) is a dynamic self-contained class designed to meet the individual needs of students with a range of disabilities. The integration of technology, visual schedules, accommodations along with routine and structure help to create an ideal environment for some of our youngest star learners. Our PPCD program consists of strategies to address behavioral concerns, academic challenges and functional development stemming from research based resources. Support provided by paraprofessionals in the classroom and throughout the campus setting tremendously helps the successful implementation of essential program elements. The PPCD teacher also works closely with other professional service providers, such as speech pathologists, occupational therapist, physical therapist, etc. to best meet the needs of every student. It is our desire to help each PPCD student access the general education curriculum and experience the general education setting to the maximum extent possible and appropriate according to his/her needs. To that end, we also work collaboratively with general education teachers, parents and other community members to ensure the richest instructional and functional practices to further each student's independence.
