FBISD School Health Services program is dedicated to creating a culture of wellness that supports student success.
A Registered Nurse is assigned to each elementary and middle school campus while a Registered Nurse and Licensed Vocational Nurse are assigned to each high school campus.The school nurse assists students' physical, mental and social growth by providing a health services program that assesses, evaluates and improves the health of students and staff.Please contact your school nurse regarding your student's health issues and concerns, hospitalizations and/or treatment changes.About Nurse Teller
My name is Douglas Teller and I have the pleasure of serving the Arizona Fleming community as your campus nurse. I came to nursing later in life, having received a Bachelor’s Degree in another field of study and working in two previous careers. I earned my nursing degree in 2010 and began working in the hospital environment specializing in orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation. After working my way into a leadership role in the hospital, I joined a corporate initiative and spent the next 6 years traveling the United States, and Puerto Rico, implementing an electronic medical records platform. I have two wonderful children, who both spent their entire school career in FBISD, attending kindergarten through Kempner. The interaction with the nurses at their schools played a large role in me becoming a school nurse. I look forward to interacting with you to ensure student success and wellness. Clinic Guidelines
To prevent exposing other student unnecessarily to illness, a student should not come to school if he/she has the following symptoms:- Vomiting and/or diarrhea the morning of school
- An undetermined rash
- A temperature of 100 or greater within the past 24 hours
