Howdy all, I’m Mrs. Shandra Butler, a native of Houston, Texas. I graduated from Prairie View A&M University with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Masters in Educational Administration; go Panthers!  I have certifications in Early Childhood Education and ESL, Special Education, and I am also a Certified Academic Language Practitioner (CALP).  

The role of the Dyslexia Teaching Specialist in FBISD is to provide identified dyslexic students with a small group instructional setting that focuses on specific skills and strategies.  Instruction will be systematic, sequential, intensive, meaning based, and multi-sensory in delivery.  Students develop and strengthen phonemic awareness, reading fluency, spelling, and writing. 

I have 28 years of experience in the field of education. I enjoy working as a Dyslexia Specialist in Fort Bend ISD and I know our fantastic students are bound for success!
