Welcome, Sonal Bhuchar Royal Bengals!

My name is Nancy Ferrara, and I am proud to serve our campus in two important roles: as the Literacy Interventionist and the Champion of Gifted and Talented Services.

I bring 20 years of teaching experience to this position. I earned both my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and my Master’s degree in Educational Technology from the University of Florida. My teaching journey began in Florida, where I spent five years as a 4th grade teacher. While gaining hands-on classroom experience, I also pursued further professional growth, earning a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University in 2006.

The next chapter of my life brought me to Houston, where my husband and I started our family. While my children were young, I cherished four wonderful years teaching at a church-based preschool they attended. Once they were older, I returned to full-time teaching in Fort Bend ISD. My son is now a high school junior, and my daughter is a freshman at the University of Florida—Go Gators! Both of my children make me proud to be their mom. 

I am a highly qualified educator, and this is my 11th year teaching at the elementary level in FBISD. I was honored to be named Sienna Crossing’s 2021–2022 Teacher of the Year. When the opportunity arose to help open a brand-new campus, I felt called to jump on board. The first two years at SBE were filled with growth, excitement, and success. I truly believe trailblazing is amazing!

I look forward to continuing to support our students in building strong literacy skills and contributing to the growth of our SBE family.
