Welcome Rosa Parks Elementary Parents and Guardians!
My name is Tahida Mayon-Williams, and I’m so excited to be your child’s school counselor! Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year. Our theme this year is "Building our Future,” and we are building a year full of growth, learning, and success together!
To best serve our students and families, Rosa Parks Elementary follows the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) model, which is designed to meet the academic, social/emotional, and career development needs of all students.
Here are some of the core services I provide:
- Guidance Curriculum – Supporting students in developing essential life skills through structured classroom lessons and activities.
- Responsive Services – Offering immediate support and intervention for students facing personal, social, or emotional challenges.
- Individual Planning – Assisting students in setting, monitoring, and achieving their academic, personal, and career goals, including support with transitions.
- System Support – Collaborating with staff, parents, and community members to promote students’ overall development and strengthen our schoolwide guidance program.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about the school counseling program at Rosa Parks Elementary. I am here to support you and your child.
If you’d like to meet with me, I kindly ask that you email or call ahead to schedule an appointment as I am in the rotation with the librarian providing guidance lessons to our students. This allows me to give you my full attention and ensure we have adequate time to address your concerns.
Warm regards,
Tahida Mayon-Williams, M.A.

The No Place for Hate® initiative provides educators and students with the resources to ensure that anti-bias and diversity education are an integral part of the school curriculum.
No Place for Hate® also helps to create and sustain inclusive school environments where all students feel valued and have the opportunity to succeed by promoting respect for individual difference while challenging bigotry and prejudice.
Rosa Parks has been named a No Place for Hate for the 2019-2020 school year and has maintained this distinction since 2011.
