Greetings fellow Titans and readers of all ages! This is my 2nd year as the librarian at Sugar Land Middle School, and I am excited to bring my ELA background and passion for literature back to this campus. I have been an educator since 2010, when I started teaching high school English at Hastings HS in Alief ISD. I primarily taught pre-AP English and SAT prep for the 7 years I was at that campus, my main extracurriculars being UIL academics and a decidedly non-academic Gamers Club. After getting my Masters in Library & Informational Sciences, I transferred to Fort Bend ISD and ran the Armstrong Elementary library for 2 years. While there, I was awarded 2018-19 Campus Teacher of the Year. My favorite aspects of librarianship are literary and research instruction, collaborating with teachers, and chatting with kids about what they're reading. When not focused on my educational practice I like to spend my time reading, gaming, and backpacking through the National Park System. I love working with the students and staff of SLMS and sharing my love of literature, learning, and of course, the library!
