Welcome to the I.H. Kempner High School Chapter of the National Honor Society
The National Honor Society (NHS) is a prestigious national organization established in 1921 to recognize and encourage academic achievement while developing other essential qualities among high school students: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character.
At I.H. Kempner High School, our NHS chapter upholds these core values by honoring exceptional juniors who meet the high standards of academic excellence and personal integrity. Membership is both a recognition of past accomplishments and a commitment to future growth through meaningful involvement in school and community service.
Students who meet the minimum GPA requirement and demonstrate leadership, strong character, and a dedication to service are invited to apply during their junior year. After a thorough application and review process, new members are inducted in the spring semester—typically in February or March.
Our chapter meets on the first Thursday of each month at 6:50 AM or 2:55 PM, either in the auditorium or in Room 932.
