Mr. Squires serves as Principal of the James Reese Career and Technical Center, bringing over 15 years of experience in education with a strong focus on student engagement and authentic learning experiences.  He is passionate about creating opportunities where students can explore their interests, grow their skills, and prepare for life beyond high school—whether that path begins with college, career, or the military.

Originally from Michigan, Mr. Squires holds two bachelor's degrees from Central Michigan University—one in Secondary Education and the other in Social Science. He later earned his master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Oakland University. Before moving to Texas in 2012, he taught middle school social studies and technology, helping students develop both academic knowledge and real-world skills.

Since relocating to the Houston area, Mr. Squires has served in a variety of instructional and leadership roles across multiple school districts. His work has included instructional technology integration and the development of innovative programs. While serving as an Assistant and Associate Principal, he has collaborated closely with science and career and technical education teachers to launch hands-on, student-centered initiatives designed to bridge academic theory with practical application.

Outside of school, Mr. Squires is continuing his education by earning his private pilot's license. He enjoys traveling the country in his 5th wheel home with his girlfriend, and two dogs — Luna and Stumpy. A proud "nerd," he loves strategy games, technology, and learning a variety of hands-on hobbies.
