Dr. Erdie and her husband Jim moved to Houston in the summer of 2017.  They have two adult children, Carmen and Robert, daughter-in-law Jordan, and two boxer "children" Sophie and Fiona. She has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Louisiana State University-Shreveport, a Master of School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Dr. Erdie has spent 18 of her 23 years in education at the high school level with 12 years as a high school administrator where she served as an Assistant Principal of Instruction, Associate Principal and Principal.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her husband.
