My name is Uwe Meyer, and I am proud to teach Computer Maintenance and Internetworking Technologies 1 here at the Reese Center. Originally from Germany, I began my career as a TV and Radio electronics technician, completing a 3.5 year apprenticeship. From there, I worked in several music stores, honing my skills in service and repair, before transitioning to computer sales.

As I gained experience, I expanded my skillset to include administrative tasks such as software, hardware, network, web shop, and ERP databases. When I relocated to the United States, I continued to maintain systems for my German employer while pursuing my education. I earned an associate's degree in Computer Programming from Wharton County Jr. College, followed by a bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems from UHV.

In August 2019, I happily joined the James Reese Career and Technical Center in Sugar Land as a teacher for Computer Maintenance and Principles of IT. When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, movies, reading, and tinkering with computers. I am married and have an 11-year-old son who is beginning middle school in the 2025/2026 school year.
