Hello Wildcat Families! 

My name is Ivanova Cruz, I am MWE's Literacy Instructional Coach and Campus Website Administrator.  I have the privilege of working with the wonderful literacy teachers here at MWE.  We work together to build the literacy instruction to assure our students are successful life-long readers and writers. 

I have been an educator for over 35 years.  I started in Headstart as a teacher's aid in 1987. I have taught Pre-K and 3rd - 6th grade General Education, GT, and Bilingual. I have also been privileged to be an ESL/Bilingual Specialist, Reading Specialist, Media Specialist, and Literacy Intervention Teacher.

I am a graduate from The City College of New York with a B. S. in Early Childhood and I have a Master's Degree from Concordia University Austin in Educational Administration. 

Originally I hail from the Big Apple NYC, but I am a Texan by choice since 2000.  I am married with 5 children and 10 grandchildren.  I love to read A LOT, paint, draw, make jewelry, and play video games with my husband.  I am a science fiction buff, love Star Trek and Star Wars since before it was a thing! My favorite pastime is to bowl with my son's in a bowling league.
