My name is Gabriela Escobedo. I am from Monterrey, N.L. Mexico. I have lived in Houston since August 1996. I have an Associate Degree-Executive Assistant and Technology.
I started as Parent Center Coordinator in January 2010 as a part-time job and became a full-time Parent Center Educator in August 2016. This is my 12th year of being part of the great Mission West Elementary Family. I continue to grow professionally by supporting parents and the Community through the classes and programs that I present at the Parent Center. My purpose as a Parent Center Educator is to provide families and the Community with the resources and necessary tools to build strong families through parent center programs. Being a Parent Center Educator is a wonderful experience!
The parent Center provides different learning opportunities for parents and the community, such as:
*Technology-(Computer classes, skyward, online district apps, etc.)
* Life skills - Basic English Classes, informational workshops, Practical Parent Education, Transition activities to Middle School and Kindergarten.
* Health and Wellness classes - Fitness, Stress and Anxiety, Healthy choices, etc.
* Literacy- FRED Reading Program, LFLP.
