Ms. Jody Ball

Ms. Ball's Welcome to Jones Video

As a young girl, I remember playing at school. My mother was a school teacher and influenced my decision greatly.  My mother and I have always had a close relationship.  She taught me that caring about others is very important in life, along with a strong belief in Christ.  I remember during my childhood having a slumber party, my mother’s students were the guests.  I believe we played school that night as well.  As I grew older, I developed a passion for helping others learn something new.  I can honestly say that as an adolescent in public school in a small town during the 80s, there was nothing like school is today.  It takes passion and education to be the teacher that our students need in 2023-2024.

My most significant accomplishments happen every day when my students enter the room eager to learn what I have for them that day.  I appreciate that they respect me enough to want to make me happy.    That appreciation came from the district in 2009; my campus participated in the D.A.T.E. grant program.  I received the highest recognition award for teacher excellence in the district for growth in STAAR scores.   I know that what you put into the students is reflected in the final count.  The content knowledge, nurturing and patience, are birthed in an individual who has an appreciation for hard work, is confident and prepared to be the best, well-rounded individual that they can be.  I believe that my most significant accomplishment is developing a thirst for knowledge which allows me to use best practices to influence the lives of students who come back years later to tell me how I changed them.  In addition to all the connections I’ve made with district personnel, students and parents, the most fulfilling reward is being recognized as Teacher of the Year by the people, who make my job so much easier every day!
