Hello, my name is Gelela Yemane (Gigi), and I am the Campus Compliance Coordinator at E.A. Jones Elementary. This is my 19th year in education and my 2nd year at E.A. Jones Elementary. In my role, I support students, families, and staff with Special Education and Section 504 services. I also serve as the State Testing Coordinator for our campus.
My background includes extensive experience as a special education teacher across various age groups, including Special Education Resource Teacher and Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Teacher.
As E.A. Jones Campus Compliance Coordinator, I am committed to supporting the diverse learning needs of each of our Dragons.
In my role as Campus Compliance Coordinator, I support staff and families as follows:
Schedule ARD and Section 504 Meetings: Arrange and coordinate meetings with campus staff, students, and families to address educational needs and accommodations.
Complete and Coordinate Paperwork: Prepare, organize, and manage all necessary documentation related to ARD and Section 504 meetings.
Assist with Communication: Facilitate effective communication between assessment teams and instructional services to ensure alignment and support.
Ensure Compliance: Support the campus in adhering to federal and state regulations related to special education and student accommodations.
Coordinate State Testing Programs: Manage the logistics of state testing programs, including maintaining the security of testing materials and ensuring proper administration.
