• The Ronald Thornton Middle School Band is the largest organization on campus with over 200 students! We start all band instruments, including flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, and percussion. Students spend their first year (6th grade) in a beginner class, then move to one of our three performing bands.

    Since the school opened in 2018, our bands have enjoyed tremendous success, including: consistent Superior ratings at the UIL Concert and Sight Reading Contest and other festivals, a performance at the Music for All National Festival in Indianapolis, placing at the FBISD Beginner Band Festival, and Advancing to the Region Level of the TMEA Honor Band Process.

    Ronald Thornton Middle School is the only school in Fort Bend ISD, and we are proud to continue his legacy of excellence!
