Mr. Theo Talley
Theo Talley is currently in his 13th year of teaching orchestra. A 2013 magna cum laude graduate of the University of North Texas, he received his bachelor’s degree in music education. While attending UNT, he studied string education with Karrell Johnson and cello with Nikola Ruzevic. In 2012, he performed with the UNT Symphony Orchestra at the annual Texas Music Educators Convention. Mr. Talley began his teaching career in 2013 as the assistant orchestra director at Dulles Middle School in Sugar Land, Texas. Teaching alongside Sally Kirk, they performed for the annual 2016 Midwest Clinic in Chicago. Since becoming head orchestra director at Bowie Middle School, Mr. Talley has grown the orchestra program to over double in size. Students in orchestra ensembles at Bowie earn consistent sweepstakes at UIL competitions. Mr. Talley attended high school in Bentonville, Arkansas, where he was an all-state musician in both orchestra and choir.
