My name is Alvin Edwards. I graduated from Grambling State University in 2001. This is my 21st year. I have experience in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. I'm originally from Ville Platte, Louisiana but moved here after graduating from college. I come from a family of educators and love working with children. I teach because I want to make a difference in students’ lives. I want to help them develop skills to become lifelong learners and enjoy learning. I want to help students strengthen their reading skills and help them become more engaged and enjoy learning, therefore, increasing their confidence in, and the enjoyment of reading. I want my students to know that they can learn and that they have support. Above all else, I want my students to know that they are important and that they are loved! It takes a community to help raise and teach kids today. I look forward to working with parents in this community to help each child become successful.
