I was born in Little Rock Arkansas to a 2^nd Lieutenant in the Air Force and an elementary school teacher. I am the oldest of three siblings; I have two younger sisters. Like all military families, we moved around, but my dad’s longest stint was as part of the faculty at the US Air Force Academy outside of Colorado Springs. I earned my BSc degree in Geophysical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, and my Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from The University of Wales at Cardiff. I have a grown son, a grown daughter, and a daughter-in-law, also grown. My granddaughter is four years old. I got married to the love of my life, Michelle, in March of last year. 

Teaching is a second career for me. I spent three decades in high-tech, mainly servicing oil and gas companies.  In addition to teaching, I am a radio personality with a one-hour news show I produce each week. I am also an avid cyclist, rolling an average of 2,000 miles a year. This summer, I rode across Iowa over seven days - over 400 miles!

I never thought I would love a job as much as I love this one. It is truly a calling, not a career, and I feel like I have found my home.
