Coach Gina Tolar
Mrs. Tolar is proud to be the director of the Travis Dance Department. She is honored to work with such kind and hardworking students on the Varsity Belles, JV Belles, and Freshman Dance Teams. As a dance coach, she strives to teach life skills that dancers can take with them through college and into the workforce. Our Tiger Dancers leave the Dance Department with an understanding of team work, compassion for others, and grit to push through tough moments in life.
Coach Tolar is married to her high school sweetheart, Philip Tolar, and they have two beautiful children. Her daughter, Addie, is a senior in high school and captain of her school's dance team, the Legacies, and her son, Nicholas, plays football, basketball, and golf .
As a graduate from Kempner High School in Fort Bend ISD, Mrs. Tolar is proud to be working in the district that gave her a passion for dance team. She was the co-captain of the Cougar Brigade while in high school and company member for the Kathleen Parker Dance Studio. Following high school, Coach Tolar trained in contemporary, ballet, ballroom, pilates, and other various styles at the University of Texas and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Modern Dance.
Professionally, Mrs. Tolar is in her 17th year of public education as a dance teacher and head dance director. She was the founding director of the Fort Bend Bush High School Illusions Dance Team, Director of the Katy Taylor Pacesetters Dance Team, Sales Associate at Leapin’ Leotards, custom dancewear company, past adjudicator for Ascension Dance, formerly Champion Dance, Crowd Pleasers Dance, and Miss Dance and Drill Team Texas, and Self Employed Custom Cake Baker.
During her time off, Coach Tolar enjoys supporting her children in their performances and games, in addition to hanging out with her extended family, going to the movies and theatre, and taking walks with her dogs, Penny and Sage, in her neighborhood trails.
Coach Amanda Skokan (Marnock)
Mrs. Skokan began dancing at the age of two at Koenig's School of Dance in Cypress, Texas. Shortly after, she moved to Frisco, Texas and was a part of the Impact Competition Team at The Dance Movement in Plano for 6 years. She spent one year at the International Conservatory of Performing Arts working with professionals and gaining great experience. During this time, she was trained in Cecchetti ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, modern, and musical theater. In Katy, Texas, she competed with 1440 Dance Company as a soloist and small group member. Ms. Marnock was a member of the Tompkins Crimson Cavalettes where she served as Junior Lieutenant and 1st Senior Lieutenant. She then attended Texas A&M University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Kinesiology: Dance Science.
Throughout her time in the TAMU Dance program, Coach Skokan had the opportunity to conduct and participate in dance research, perform in faculty and student showcases, and choreograph her own work. Throughout her education program, she had many opportunities to work with drill teams and studios in Texas. Mrs. Skokan worked at Suzanne’s School of Dance in College Station for two years as an educator teaching jazz and ballet. She served as a student teacher at Tompkins High School where she taught dance classes and worked with the Crimson Cavalettes for the Spring 2023 season.
Coach Skokan holds a Texas Teacher Certification in Dance and P.E. She is honored and blessed to be a part of the Travis Belles and begin her journey as an assistant director.
