• The Travis Belles are William B. Travis High School's varsity dance team directed by Gina Tolar and Amanda Marnock. The team consists of freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors chosen by audition annually. The Belles perform half-time features during the football season, co-host and perform in a community dance concert in December, compete regionally and nationally at dance competition during the month of February, and assemble a year’s worth of dance routines for the grand finale, Bellissimo, our spring show in April.  We are truly a year-round extracurricular activity. The Varsity Belles practice is a combination of morning and afternoon practices, allowing our students to be involved in activities like outside studio dance classes, other extracurricular activities, various clubs and afternoon tutorials.     The Travis JV Dance Team  consists of freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors chosen by audition annually. The JV Dance Team is a training team with a focus on increasing flexibility and technical skills. The JV Dance Team performs with the Varsity Belles at football games in addition to a couple of JV games during the football season, in addition to co-hosting and performing in a community dance concert in December, and performs in Bellissimo, our spring show in April.  We are a year-round extracurricular activity. The JV Belles practice is a combination of morning and afternoon practices, allowing our students to be involved in activities like outside studio dance classes, other extracurricular activities, various clubs and afternoon tutorials. 

     

    The Travis Freshman Dance Team consists of freshman chosen by audition annually. The Freshman Dance Team is a beginner level team with a focus on musicality, flexibility, technique, and basic dance skills. The team attends one JV football game with the JV Belles, co-hosts and performs in a community dance concert in December, and performs in Bellissimo, our spring show, in April.  The Freshman Dance Team is set up like an accelerated dance class with a taste of the Travis Dance Team experience. This team does not have weekly practices, allowing students to be involved in outside studio dance classes, other extracurricular activities, various clubs and morning/afternoon tutorials.
