Mrs. Bersalona is the head choir director at Kempner High School. This is her second year here and her 31st year of teaching. She has a Bachelor's of Music from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership with a principal's certification from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Mrs. Bersalona has taught all ages of students from elementary students to senior citizen private voice lessons. She has spent the bulk of her career in secondary education with 11 years teaching middle school choir and 13 years at the high school level. She is a member of TCDA, TMEA and an active judge with TMAA. She has judged and been and invitied clinician across Texas and served as a TMEA region officer for 10 years in Region 28 before moving to Sugar Land. She is currently the high school Choir Facilitator and enjoys building relationships with her future students at Sugar Land Middle School. Mrs. Bersalona is so happy to be with her extremely talented students at Kempner and can't wait to see what the future holds for this growing program. When she's not at work, she and her huband are empty nesters as their two daughters are grown and live in Austin and Nashville so they hang out with their two huge dogs and enjoy traveling to see family.
