Mrs. Diana Alcebo
Hi to all my Walker Station Academics!
I am Diana Alcebo, and this is my first-year teaching 5th grade. I’ve been in education for 13 years, with 11 of those years as a classroom teacher. This will be my 12th year in the classroom. I taught Pre-K for 5 years, 4th grade for 2 years, 3rd grade for 3 years, and served as a Media Specialist for 1 year.
I was born in Cuba and moved to the great state of Texas when I was 4 years old. I attended the University of Houston (Go Coogs!), where I received my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, with minors in History and Gender Studies. I began my teaching career as an After School Group Leader at Mark Twain in HISD, then moved to Walnut Bend to run the after-school program. Once I graduated, I began teaching Pre-K as a classroom teacher. I was honored to be named Bilingual Teacher of the Year in 2017 and Teacher of the Year in 2024.
When I’m not at WSE, I’m with my 8-year-old daughter, who is also starting 3rd grade at Walker Station, my husband Alex, and our dog Chiqui. In my free time, I love reading, bike riding, and traveling whenever possible. The beach is one of my favorite places to be—I’m sure I was a mermaid in another life!
I am extremely excited to join the Walker Station team and to meet my new students!
