Greetings,

My name is Lisa Anne Gilbert and I am so pleased to be your child's Reading, Language Arts and Social Studies Teacher for this school  year.  This year marks my twenty-seventh (27) year of teaching and my sixth year at Holley Elementary.  I had the distinct pleasure of representing my fabulous fifth grade team and Mary Austin Holley Elementary as Teacher of the Year 2022.  I hail from New Orleans, La.  Currently, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Elementary  Education from Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD and a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of New Orleans in New Orleans, La.  I also hold a certificate as a Reading Specialist and I am working on my doctorate in Teacher Leadership from Walden University.  This will be an exciting year for everyone as we grow by leaps and bounds.  Our goal is to develop a passion for reading, a curious appetite for inquiry and become well-rounded and cultured individuals.
