Ms. Angela Kirkendoll

My name is Angela Kirkendoll, and I am honored to serve as the librarian for Hightower High School. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising/Journalism from the University of North Texas and my Master of Science degree in Library and Information Science from Texas Woman’s University. I started my career working for the Harris County Public Library system, and then moved on to work for Houston ISD as a second grade teacher. I have been a school librarian for over 17 years.

My accolades include being selected as one of 16 educators across the country to receive recognition from Microsoft as the nation’s top educator at the Microsoft Partners in Learning U.S. Forum. Throughout my educational career, I have been awarded Teacher of the Year, Houston I.S.D. Librarian of the Year, Texas Librarian Association Branding Iron award winner, and have been student-nominated for Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.

I look forward to assisting the Hightower community with reference, research, technology, and literacy needs to expand the plethora of knowledge gaining opportunities.
