Welcome to RTMS 8th ELA

 

I am Mrs. Lewis, your 8th-grade ELA teacher at Ronald Thornton Middle School. This is my 6th year of teaching. I graduated from The University of Houston with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations with a minor in English. I recently obtained a Master of Public Administration from Lamar University in May 2024. In the 8th grade English Language Arts curriculum, we will explore a diverse range of literary genres, including classic literature, contemporary fiction, poetry, and non-fiction texts. Your child will engage in stimulating discussions, participate in creative writing exercises, and undertake exciting projects designed to enhance their language skills and nurture their love for reading.  I strive to inspire students to love English Language Arts as much as I do. As an advocate for personalized learning, I strive to accommodate various learning styles and ensure that every student can reach their full potential.
