• William B. Travis Dance Department

At Travis High School, dance is offered in levels I, II, III, and IV, in addition to Dance Team.  Students study various forms of dance such as world dance, jazz, ballet, contemporary, pom, kick, world, and hip hop.  Additional topic of study include kinesiology, improvisation, choreography, and dance history.

In dance, students will learn how to express emotions and meaning through dance.  They will also gain knowledge of the need for sensitivity when working in groups on creative projects.

Dance can earn credit as fine arts, physical education, or an elective.  See the THS counselors for personalized credit needs.
