• A Sweet Success: 11th Annual Sugar Shindig Takes the Cake!

On Friday, October 24, the Fort Bend Education Foundation hosted its 11th  Annual Sugar Shindig, presented by Jacobs. The event was a sweet success, netting nearly $58,000 in support of our Grants to Teachers and Schools programs, which provide opportunities to enrich and enhance the quality of education for all Fort Bend ISD students. With over 750 attendees, the event combined dinner and dancing with the pinnacle event of the night—a cake auction featuring 20 cakes made by local bakers.

Congratulations to Malala Elementary School on their 3-peat for the highest number of teachers and staff in attendance, and to Fleming Elementary School for the highest percentage in attendance! Pictured below are the 2025 Sugar Stars, Malala Elementary School Staff.

We appreciate everyone who came out to shimmy, shake and eat cake! A huge THANK YOU to our behind-the-scenes angels — our amazing volunteers, who helped keep things running smoothly; and all our sponsors, cake bidding partners, attendees and supporters for making this event such a success. We could not have done it without them!

Mark your calendars now for next year’s Sugar Shindig — Friday, October 23, 2026! For more information about the Foundation, visit our website at www.fortbendisd.com/foundation.
