Hello Wise Owls, my name is Rachel Semien-Monroe, and I am the 3rd Grade Lead Teacher at Hunters Glen Elementary. I grew up in Southpark, Houston, TX, and graduated from Ross Shaw Sterling Sr. High School. However, my summers were spent in LA, so I represent both Texas and Louisiana. I am a proud wife and mother of two.
My love for teaching developed during my time at Verizon Wireless, where I worked for 15 years. In my last 10 years there, I served as one of the Technical Support Trainers. So, when VZW decided to close its TX Corporate doors, returning to school for education felt like a natural next step. I graduated from Texas Southern University in 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Science, focusing on Early Childhood Development.
I've been with Hunters Glen Elementary since 2022, but I've been part of Fort Bend ISD since 2014. It is an honor and a privilege to be a part of your scholars’ educational journeys.
