My name is Ms. Shinette and I am so excited to welcome you and your child to 2nd grade! We are going to have a wonderful year together full of learning, fun, and adventures. I cannot wait to see what this year has in store for us!

About me: I am a graduate from University of Houston-Victoria and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies EC-4 and Special Education K-12 in 2007. I’m also certified in English 4-8 and English as a Second Language. Later, I returned and earned my Master’s of Special Education. I’ve always wanted to work with children and have been teaching since January 2008. When I am not teaching, you can usually find me spending time with family, watching a movie, or traveling!

This is my first year teaching 2nd grade and fifth year at Hunters Glen Elementary. Overall, I’ve taught 17 years with sixteen of those years in Fort Bend ISD. My goal as a teacher is to instill a lifelong love for learning. I also love celebrating the unique gifts that each child brings to the classroom. Therefore, I make it my mission to build a classroom community filled with kindness, compassion, and respect for all.
