FBISD Board of Trustees to kick off “Listening Tour” at Marshall High School October 10
Community members and parents invited to share feedback and participate in roundtable discussions
FORT BEND ISD (September 13, 2016) – Fort Bend ISD’s Board of Trustees is coming to a school near you in order to hear from parents, community members and other stakeholders during its first-ever “Listening Tour.” Board members will hold four of their monthly board workshops at FBISD campuses during the 2016-17 school year, beginning at Marshall High School on October 10, 2016.
Each stop on the “Listening Tour” will consist of several roundtable discussions, as well as opportunities to ask questions of FBISD Board members and District leaders. At the conclusion of the roundtables, the attendees will be invited to stay and attend the monthly Board workshop.
FBISD Board President Kristin Tassin said she and other Board members decided to embark on the tour in order to better connect with all FBISD stakeholders.
“We value our parents, students, staff members and taxpayers, and we hope to hear from them during the upcoming Listening Tour. We are here for the entire FBISD community, and we want to listen, engage and respond to their needs.”
“We know that people may not have the time or ability to attend our monthly meetings, so our desire is to go into our schools, which are the heart of our neighborhoods.”
Marshall High School will host the first stop on the Listening Tour. Roundtable discussions will begin at 5:00 p.m., with the Board workshop following at 6:00 p.m. Community members from throughout the District are invited to attend all four stops of the tour.
