Arrival and Dismissal 
We appreciate your help in keeping students safe by remaining in the car line upon arrival and dismissal from school. Please do not park in the back parking lot and tell your child to walk to you.  Parents in cars need to wait in the car pick-up line.  Please make sure to pay attention to traffic signs that have been placed near the school.

Transportation Changes

For purposes of safety, please notify your child’s teacher in writing if transportation home will change on the day of the change (see form below).  Children will go home in the usual manner unless a note from the parent clearly specifies that day’s alternative plan.  Remember, unless the teacher has a note stating otherwise, the usual route home will be followed.  In case of an emergency, please email Kayce.Washburn@fortbendisd.gov or fax a request to (281-634-5014), but please follow up with a phone call to the front office.  We need changes at least 1 hour before dismissal time to ensure that the message can be delivered.  No student will be called to the office between 3:00-3:25 p.m.

Car Rider Dismissal 
We have used the car rider at dismissal car tags for many years to enhance the safety of our students as well as expedite the dismissal process. 

We ask that the parent/guardian of each student that plans to be a car rider at dismissal obtain a car rider tag with a number on it. Please hang the tag on the rearview mirror when you arrive to pick up your child in the afternoon. You can request up to two car tags, after which additional car tags will be $5 each. Please make sure that your car tag is clearly visible and that your child (ren) knows the number.  Students will not be released without a valid car tag.

If you have never had a car tag or if you have lost your car tag, please complete the attached form, email it to Robyn.DuboseKing@fortbendisd.gov, send it with your child, or stop by the Front Office.  Please note that car tags can only be issued to the student's parents/guardian.  In addition, please indicate your car tag # if you have previously had a car tag.  A duplicate tag will be sent home with the oldest child.

The car rider dismissal location is based on the youngest child in the family.

• Pre-K and Kindergarten (and their siblings) will be back car dismissal
• 1st through 5th grades will be front car dismissal

Bike Riders and Walkers
Parents need to give safety instructions to their children if they walk or ride their bike to school.  If you plan for your children to walk or ride a bike to school, please walk or ride their route with them several times before you permit them to be unsupervised.  It is most important that students walk on the sidewalks and cross the streets using the crosswalks.  When arriving at school, children need to start walking their bikes when they leave the street sidewalk and continue walking them to the bike racks.  All bikes need to be locked securely when parked at school.  It is recommended that parents properly register your child’s bike with the police department in case the bike is stolen.  Do not leave bikes overnight!  When leaving school, bike riders will need to push their bikes to the end of the school grounds (where the street sidewalk begins).

Rainy Day Dismissal
Dismissal procedures change on rainy days for those students who walk or ride their bikes.  Rainy Day Dismissal will be announced at 3:15 p.m.  Each student will have an Emergency Dismissal card on file in the front office.  Listed will be those people that the parent has permitted the child to go home with in the case of extreme weather at dismissal time.  Please be aware that during Rainy Day Dismissals, the car lines will be longer.  We ask for your patience as we get all the students on their way home.  Walkers will be held at school in dangerous weather.  Our main concern, ALWAYS, is the safety of your child.  If you would like to be notified, please sign up for the Remind app for parents.  

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Join the appropriate group based on your (PARENT FIRST NAME which is how Remind lists names.  Please only join one group.
