My name is Lisa Vogel and I am so happy to be your fifth grade teacher! This is my 21st year teaching and I love what I do! My favorite thing about teaching is creating readers. I love finding the perfect book for each student. I will be your reading, writing, and social studies teacher this year. I cannot wait to see you all!
Education: I went to school in Fort Bend ISD just like you. I graduated from Dulles High School. I knew I wanted to be a teacher so I got my first college degree in Education from the University of Houston. Because I love learning, I went back and earned my Masters degree in Urban Education. An because I love learning even more, I went back to get my Doctorate! I ended up getting sick and was unable to complete my Doctorate but I learned a lot.
Family: I have been married to my husband for 15 years and I have four amazing children and 2 grandsons! I also have two dogs: Molly and Lilly.
Fun: I love reading--especially historical fiction about WWII and the Holocaust. I have a gigantic classroom libray full of awesome books. I have so many graphic novels that kids from other classes and grade levels come to check them out!
I also like watching my kids play sports. Caroline is a freshman and is a runner and a cheerleader. She has also played volleyball in middle school. Jackson is a swimmer and swims all year. He swims for two teams: Escalate and Covington Woods Stingrays.I am addicted to Pokemon Go-lol and I like watching true crime documentaries.
We chose Rainbows as our theme this year because they can be seen as an image of HOPE. I cannot wait to be with you face-to-face. I know we are going to have a GREAT year!
