The Goals of Kindergarten

    • Students engage in activities that build on their natural curiosity and prior knowledge to develop their reading, writing and oral language skills.
    • Students will engage in understanding counting and cardinal numbers, addition as joining, subtraction as separating and comparing objects by measurable attributes.
    • Students study their relationship to the classroom, school, home and community, develop concepts of time and chronology and learn about citizenship.
    • Students observe and describe the natural world using their five senses, develop and enrich their abilities to understand scientific concepts and processes using inquiry and develop vocabulary through their experiences with common objects, earth materials and organisms.
