About Me
My name is Miriam Elias and I am a bilingual  third grade teacher at Ridgegate Elementary School. I was born in Mexico, and have grown up in Houston since the age of six. I have always had a passion for learning and helping others realize their potential. I graduated from the University of Houston- Downtown and majored in Interdisciplinary Studies (Education).

Fun Facts
When I am not reading a good book, I enjoy dabbling in art. If I can find a way to incorporate creativity and art into our lessons, I will. I myself am a visual learner and respect my student's need for a variety of learning styles.

Why I Became a Teacher
I became a teacher in hopes of inspiring young minds and helping them succeed. When a student finally understands a skill they were struggling with, their self esteem rises. I love knowing that I am having such a positive effect on so many young lives.
