• 2021 Sugar Shindig a success; Nearly $50,000 raised to support FBISD teachers and schools!

The return of the Sugar Shindig was a sweet success, netting nearly $50,000 for Grants to Teachers and Schools! This year marked the 7th anniversary of the event, hosted by the Fort Bend Education Foundation’s Angels of Education Auxiliary. The Sugar Shindig was held Oct. 29 at Safari Texas and welcomed more than 650 guests – including FBISD staff, volunteers and community members – who came out to shimmy, shake and eat cake. Guests also enjoyed a live cake action, buffet dinner and live band.

Congratulations to the following schools on winning the top awards:

    • Madden Elementary, highest attendance for elementary schools (a “four-peat” win)
    • Hodges Bend Middle School, highest attendance for secondary schools
    • Briargate Elementary, campus with the highest percentage in attendance

Pictured are members of the Madden Elementary team, including the school's namesakes, that won their 4th consecutive highest attendance for elementary schools award!
