  • Reminders for Parents

    • Kindergarten & 1st Grade: Please place an extra set of clothing in your child’s backpack in case of accidents.

    Clinic Procedures

    • Clinic Release: Parents/guardians must check in at the front office to pick up a student from the clinic.

    • Returning After Absence: Students must provide a parent/guardian note explaining the absence to the attendance clerk.

    • Contagious Illnesses: Students who require a doctor’s release to return to school should first report to the clinic before going to class.

    About FBISD Health Services

    The FBISD School Health Services program is dedicated to creating a culture of wellness that supports student success.

    • A Registered Nurse is assigned to each elementary and middle school campus.

    • A Registered Nurse and a Licensed Vocational Nurse are assigned to each high school campus.

    • School nurses assist with students’ physical, mental, and social growth by providing a health services program that assesses, evaluates, and improves the health of both students and staff.

    Please contact your school nurse regarding your student’s health issues or concerns, hospitalizations, and/or treatment changes.

Clinic Announcements

  • Student Clinic Visits

    When your student visits the clinic, they will be sent home with a copy of the Teacher’s Referral to Nurse form.

    This form includes:

    • Time your student came to the clinic

    • Time they left the clinic

    • Reason for the visit

    • Exam findings

    • Treatment provided

    This process helps keep parents informed about their child’s clinic visits.

  • School Screenings

    Each school year, students in Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades participate in hearing and vision screenings.

    If your child brings home a referral form for a follow-up exam:

    1. Please take the form to your healthcare provider for evaluation.

    2. Return the completed form to the school nurse.

  • Lost Glasses Notice

    If your student loses their glasses, please check with the front office.
    Any unclaimed glasses at the end of the school year will be donated to a charitable organization.
