Hi, my name is Folake Ladipo and I am one of the ESL teachers here at Dulles Middle School. This is my 6th school year at Fort end ISD but my first at Dulles and I am excited to be here and even more excited to be your child's ESL teacher. My teaching career started in my home country of Nigeria, West Africa in 1987 and my passion for teaching has continued to grow ever since. I obtained my first degree in English and Literary Studies from The University of Ife Nigeria, West Africa. I also hold a Masters degree In Education from Houston Baptist University. I have a strong drive for working with students whose first language is not English and I am of the mindset that English learners have the capacity to learn just like the native speakers if given the right supportive environment and linguistic accommodations. Due to this philosophy, I come daily prepared to equip English Learners with the tools needed for both 2nd language acquisition and academic success. I believe my many years of working with children of diverse cultural backgrounds is a great asset in working with your child. I will also be a strong advocate for your child in with their other teachers. In my spare time I love to read biographies, listen to inspirational music and watch and videos and documentaries of real life events. I have a daughter who is married with two beautiful daughters so I enjoy doing grandma duties too.
