Hello, my name is Joanna Truong and I am excited to be at DMS. I have been teaching visual art since 2013. My teaching experiences have been in early childhood and middle school art.

I was born and raised in Houston and obtained my BFA in Studio Painting from the University of Houston. Go COOGS!!! I have two fur babies named Bagel and Benji. Needless to say, I love dogs or any animals honestly. When I am not teaching, I love to travel and explore new places.

One of my favorite quote from Pablo Picasso is: "Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up."

My goal is to instill in young minds that working hard, believing in yourself, and taking risks will yield great results. I’m looking forward to an awesome year in Art!!
