My name is Luis Oscar Aquino, I was born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico. I attended The American School in Guadalajara, where I learned English during my elementary grades. I am the oldest of ten brothers and sisters. This 2019-2020 school year will be my 18th. year as an educator here in Texas. I'm a father of four beautiful daughters and they live in Guadalajara, now as mothers with their own family. I graduated from La Universidad de Guadalajara, with a Bachelor's Degree as an Agricultural Engineer and came to this wonderful country starting College at St. Thomas University here in Houston, getting my certification as a teacher in 2001. I always knew being around children was my calling, I just never knew I belonged in the classroom until certified by Region IV, when I really noticed an interest for education. I then fell in love with the idea of changing the world by helping our future leaders grow as successful citizens in our community. It is a daily challenge working with my students, but I know that one day, most of them will remember the good times in class, applying concepts learned in school!
In my free time, I enjoy reading and socializing with friends and colleagues. I am known for my dedication and perseverance, I always give 100 % to my students and push them to give their best. I am very excited to be part of this amazing family at Ridgegate Elementary School and cannot wait for this year to unfold with many accomplishments.
