• Mrs. Schwinger  Principal, Joy Schwinger

Welcome to Donald Leonetti Elementary, “The Greatest Place to Be a Kid!”  I am excited and honored to be the principal of Leonetti Elementary. My goal is to provide a culture and environment where all students and staff learn with pride, lead with confidence, and inspire to impact lives!

I have had the great privilege of being an educator since 1996.  My career in education began in Alief ISD as a classroom teacher and an  English as a Second Language (ESL) specialist and reading specialist.  I then transitioned to Fort Bend ISD where I became assistant principal at Lexington Creek Elementary, principal of Oyster Creek Elementary and then principal of Walker Station Elementary.  I am now extremely privileged to be the first principal of Donald Leonetti Elementary, where I promise to make our school the greatest place to be!

As a lifelong learner, I am very proud to have been chosen to attend The Rice Educational Entrepreneurship Program (REEP) and The Harvard Leadership Institute. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston and a Master of Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin University.

I am a proud wife and mother.  My husband, Steven, and I are raising our children in the Sugar Land community. I have a daughter, a son and two yellow labs.  When I am not enjoying my time at school with the amazing staff and students, I love playing golf and having family movie nights.

It is my belief that parents and the community are our partners in the educational process.  Strong positive relationships with families are extremely important to the success of our school.  Your voice is very important to me, so please feel free to always share your thoughts, ideas and suggestions.  I am very excited to be able to serve the community as the principal of Donald Leonetti Elementary School, “The Greatest Place to Be a Kid!”

Mrs. Simpson  Assistant Principal, Christina Simpson

My name is Christina Simpson. I am so grateful to be a part of the Leonetti Lion family! I started my teaching career in HISD at Will Rogers Elementary.  After teaching fourth and fifth graders there for four years, I came to FBISD.  I taught fourth grade at Commonwealth Elementary for thirteen years.  I feel fortunate to work with the students, staff, and community members of Leonetti Elementary.  I know we can work together to make the school the greatest place to be!

Sugar Land has been my home since 1981, and I grew up attending FBISD schools.  I graduated from the University of Houston in 2000 and completed my Masters Degree at UH too.  My husband Brent and I have two daughters. When I'm not at school, I like spending time with my family.
