Amanda Rodgers is excited to continue working as the principal at Colony Bend. She brings 18 years of experience as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal, most recently serving as principal at Braeburn Elementary in Houston ISD. Amanda earned her Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of St. Thomas and her Master's of Business Administration from Rice University. When Amanda has free time, she loves to take her dog for walks, go camping, or read a great book. She is also an avid Astros fan.

 

I am so excited to be able to put down new roots in the Colony Bend community. I've loved my time here so far and feel certain great things are in our future as a school community!

Angela Sonnier is thrilled to join the Colony Bend Elementary community as the new assistant principal. What drew her to Colony Bend is its strong academic reputation, experienced staff, and the deep sense of trust and pride shared by families and educators.

 

Angela brings over 20 years of experience in education, including roles as a classroom teacher, ESL specialist, literacy interventionist, and instructional coach. Most recently, she served as a Professional Learning Specialist, partnering with campuses across Fort Bend ISD to support school-wide instructional systems, professional learning, and student success initiatives.

 

Education is a true family passion—her husband is a high school band director, her oldest daughter just completed her first year in the classroom as a middle school band director, and her youngest is a proud Aggie at Texas A&M University. She is excited to serve alongside Principal Rodgers and support the amazing work already happening at Colony Bend as the Eagle team continues to reach new heights.
