I am honored and excited to introduce myself as your new principal. With over 20 years of experience in education, I bring a diverse background and a passion for nurturing young minds to our school.

My journey in education began as a bilingual teacher, where I developed a deep appreciation for the power of language and cultural diversity in learning. This experience led me to specialize further, becoming a math specialist and later a Bilingual/ESL Specialist. In these roles, I honed my skills in curriculum development and instructional strategies to support students from various linguistic backgrounds.

My commitment to education extends beyond K-12. As an Adjunct Professor at Houston Community College, I had the opportunity to teach English to students that English was not their native language, and they aspired to become proficient in the language in order to further their education.

Most recently, I served as an Assistant Principal for the past 10 years at both high school and elementary levels. These experiences have given me a comprehensive understanding of the educational journey from early childhood through adolescence, and the importance of creating strong foundations for lifelong learning.

At Barrington Place Elementary, I am committed to fostering an inclusive, innovative, and inspiring learning environment where every student can thrive. I look forward to working closely with our dedicated staff, families, and community partners to build upon the school's strengths and chart an exciting course for our future together.

I'm eager to meet each of you and learn about your hopes and dreams for our school. Together, we will ensure that Barrington Place Elementary continues to be a place where curiosity is cultivated, potential is realized, and every child feels valued and supported.

Tammy Hunter

Hello Broncos! My name is Tammy Hunter, and I am honored and excited to be the BPE Assistant Principal this year. I was born and raised in Texas. I started my teaching career in the Midwest where I graduated from Missouri Southern University with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and later completed my master’s degree in Educational Leadership at The University of Pittsburg State University.

I have more than 18 years working in education, and I am truly blessed to be able to share the knowledge and experiences that I have gained throughout those years with other educators.

During my time in the classroom, I had the opportunity to teach elementary students in various grade levels. I have also served outside the classroom in various instructional leadership roles. I joined Fort Bend ISD in 2018 and most recently served as a Math Instructional Coach for 4 years at Lula Belle Goodman Elementary. It has been my passion and privilege to collaborate with educators at every level to provide engaging classroom instruction in safe learning environments. I believe all students deserve learning opportunities that allow them to be deep thinkers, problem solvers, effective collaborators, and confident communicators. I believe that all students should come to school every day knowing that they are a special part of the school community and should be empowered to take ownership of their successes!

Outside of school, I am a wife and a boy mom to two talented sons. I’m also a proud grandma to a beautiful granddaughter. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, attending plays, and watching movies with my husband.

I’m excited to be part of reuniting BPE. I look forward to building strong relationships with my Broncos family.
