My name is Desa Weathers. I’ve been teaching for over 20 years in different capacities, but this is my seventh year in a certified teacher role, 4^th in Fort Bend ISD. Throughout this time, I’ve been teaching Kindergarten. I am married to my best friend and, I am a mother of 2, and a bonus mom to 2 as well. I also have 2 fur babies. 

I am a graduate of Brooklyn College, in Brooklyn, NY. I hold a BA in Early Childhood Education with a Concentration in Children’s Studies. This deals with the whole aspect of development. I received my M.Ed. in Counseling from Texas Southern University. Graduating from both the counseling program at TSU and the education program at Brooklyn College, I have a strong educational background in Issues of Human development.

My why? I do it for the kids. I understand that I must be a positive role model and have a vested interest in the success of each student. Knowing that I am entrusted to shape their minds and help to guide them through the teaching and learning process, keeps me doing what I love.

I’m honored to be joining the Lantern Lane family for this upcoming school year. I am looking forward to making memories and growing learners.
