My name is Lawana Stevenson, and I absolutely love teaching and the work I do. My students inspire me every single day—they make me laugh, help me grow, and are the bright spark in my day. I am enthusiastic, passionate, and goal-oriented when it comes to educating children. I believe that every student is precious and possesses unique gifts and talents to share with the world.

I was born and raised in the Houston area. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Texas Southern University and later received a Master’s degree in Reading from Nova Southeastern University. I’m proud to bring both my academic background and life experience into the classroom each day.

Outside of school, I am a wife, mother, and grandmother of four beautiful grandchildren—my family is truly the joy of my life. In my free time, I enjoy horseback riding, shopping, fast cars and cooking.
