Erika Edmond

Welcome to Townewest Elementary School where Students Lead The Herd!  I am excited to continue leading the TWE family and being a member of Fort Bend ISD.

I am a native Houstonian. I attended Texas Southern University where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management and a Master's Degree in Public Administration.  I returned to Texas Southern University for my Teacher and Principal certifications.  In 1999,  I began my career in Houston ISD as a Third grade teacher. While in Houston ISD I passionately served as a fifth-grade teacher, instructional coordinator, and assistant principal.  My most recent assignment was with Katy ISD where I served as assistant principal for 4 years.

In my spare time, I enjoy running marathons, as well as spending time with my nephew!

I believe in servant leadership, fostering strong relationships with all stakeholders, and increasing academic achievement.  I look forward to continuing a tradition of excellence for Townewest students, staff, and the community "Where Students Lead the Herd".

Felipa Briceno

My name is Felipa Briceño and it is an honor to serve the parents, students, staff, and community of Townewest.  I am from Belize and have lived in Fort Bend County for the past thirteen years.

I began my career as an educator in the Houston Independent School District.  I was a bilingual teacher at Raul C. Martinez and Berry Elementary.  I then moved to Piney Point Elementary where I was a Teacher Specialist for a year and an Assistant Principal for three years.

I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky and two Master Degrees from the University of Saint Thomas in Houston.  I have a Master of Education degree and a Master of Business Administration Education degree.

I am a proud wife of a FBISD principal and mother to two wonderful children, an eleven-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl.  During my time away from work, I enjoy listening to music, spending time with my children, reading, watching television and shopping.

I am a servant leader; I am committed to the growth and well-being of the students, teachers, and staff of Townewest Elementary.  I strongly believe that all children can learn and if they feel loved and appreciated, we can teach them.  We have to look at the whole child and meet their social and emotional needs before we can teach them. I look forward to working alongside Ms. Edmond, the principal, and the Townewest community to have a fun and exciting year and achieve our goals!
