Ms. Fatoumata Konate
Hello! My name is Fatoumata Konate, and I am thrilled to be your Social Studies teacher this year. I have a deep passion for history and education, which has guided my academic and professional journey.
I earned my Bachelor's of Art in History from the University of Houston, where I developed a strong foundation in historical research and analysis. My time at UH was instrumental in shaping my love for exploring the past and understanding how it influences our present and future.
After completing my undergraduate studies, I pursued a Master's of Art in History at Texas Southern University. At TSU, I delved deeper into historical research, focusing on African American and African studies, which further fueled my enthusiasm for teaching and sharing knowledge. I am also currently pursuing a Doctoral degree at Houston Christian University in Educational Leadership.
In my classroom, I aim to create an engaging and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and inspired to learn. I believe that studying social studies is not just about memorizing dates and events but about understanding the complex narratives that have shaped our world. My goal is to help students develop critical thinking skills, a sense of curiosity, and an appreciation for diverse perspectives.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy watching documentaries, reading historical novels, traveling, visiting museums, and just spending time with my family. I am excited about bringing my passion for history and my dedication to education into the classroom and look forward to a fantastic year of learning and discovery with all of you.
Let's make this school year a memorable and enriching experience!
