Cougar Cub Family,

This will be my fourth year as principal at PGE. I graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelors in Elementary Education and received my Masters of Administration and Supervision from University of Houston. Over the past 23 years, I have worked as a teacher, specialist, campus administrator and district Director in Fort Bend ISD. I began my career at Mission Bend Elementary as a 5th Grade Math & Science Teacher. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th and 8th grade students before going into administration. I was an Assistant Principal at Dulles Middle School prior to my first principalship at Mission Glen Elementary. I worked there for five years prior to opening our district’s 50th elementary school, James Patterson Elementary where I led the panthers for three years. For a year and a half I worked at the district level in Teacher Development. this will be my fourth year as principal at Pecan Grove Elementary. I have also had some great leadership development with Raise Your Hand Texas (RYHT) where I have had the privilege to engage in learning at Rice University in the Education Entrepreneurship Program and attend Improving Schools, The Art of Leadership at the Harvard Graduate School of Education Principal Center. I continue to work with RYHT to advocate for public education and engage in professional learning.

I love being an educator and advocate for students. My desire is for every student at PGE to excel as a learner and as a citizen of great character. I look forward to spending time with students, staff and families, getting to know them, and celebrating their successes.

Greetings!

My name is Shazia Bhimani Qazi and I am the proud assistant principal of Pecan Grove Elementary School. This is the beginning of my 5th year here, and it has been an amazing place to be! 

I received my Bachelor of Science in Applied Learning and Development with Honors from The University of Texas at Austin and obtained my Master’s degree in Educational Management from The University of Houston Clear Lake.

During the course of my fifteen years in education, I have served as an elementary teacher in Clear Creek ISD and in Fort Bend ISD I have had the opportunity to open Madden Elementary School and teach 1st and 3rd grade there. After that, I was the Math Specialist at Juan Seguin Elementary School for three years and now I am serving our Cougar Cub Families. 

I am married to Kamran Qazi, and we are the proud parents of two wonderful children, Kalil Liam and Naira Iman. We love spending our weekends enjoying time together, visiting family, cooking and making memories. I also enjoy baking and reading during my free time.

I am thrilled to be a part of the Cougar Cub Family and am excited for a wonderful year ahead! Together we can make anything happen!
