Welcome to Art at Commonwealth Elementary!  My name is Tamana Patel. I am a FBISD native and graduated from the University of Houston Main where I obtained my BFA with a minor in Education. 

I love sharing my passion for art with children.  My students are exposed to various styles, media, techniques and forms of art throughout the year.  They are challenged with critical thinking questions and hands-on problem solving.   I teach my students to connect what they learn in Science, Math, ELA and Social Studies to what they learn in Art.  I believe Art plays an important part in giving our students the skills needed in order to succeed in everything they pursue.  

I look forward to helping your child explore their talents and create masterpieces this year! 

In my free time I enjoy plant-based cooking, spending time with loved ones, traveling, the outdoors, yoga and creating art of my own!
