Hello! I am Gabriela Acosta. This is my fifth year as a bilingual literacy interventionist for kindergarten and first-grade students at the Ridgemont Early Literacy Center. I am a proud UHCL alumni and have earned a bachelor’s degree as an EC-6 Bilingual Generalist. Before becoming an interventionist, I was a pre-kindergarten teacher for 5 years.

I am very passionate about teaching reading to our youngest learners. I value the opportunity to shape each student as an individual, with the goal of helping them grow into responsible, engaged citizens who contribute to a better society. By empowering one student at a time, we build a brighter future. I have a deep love for reading, and I’m passionate about inspiring others to share that same love of literacy!
